There have been some questions that have come up about what can be run in the Stock SCT class and what cannot. Specifically, tires and differentials have been mentioned, as well as ESC/Motor combos. I want to try to address some of these issues now, so we have less uncertainty when you arrive at the track.

The intent of the class is to keep the cars as close to a Ready-To-Run stock truck as possible, with the driver being the controlling factor in the performance, rather than one person running superior equipment over another. However, there will obviously be variations in the equipment, since multiple manufacturers are involved. In any case, the following things need to be clarified:

The ESC and motor used MUST be from a Ready-To-Run Short Course Truck. It can be from a manufacturer that is different from your chassis manufacturer, as long as it comes on an RTR truck. Aftermarket ESCs and motors are not allowed.

There have been questions about differentials with different tooth pitch that are not available on any Ready-To-Run vehicle. We intended to allow only differentials from RTR cars in the class, but due to the fact that I did not write this section of the rules explicitly enough, I have unintentionally left room for aftermarket differentials to be considered legal. Since this was just pointed out to me today, it seems unfair to say that these cannot be used at the last minute, after allowing people to think that these would be allowed. I'm certain that some people have purchased these differentials (at considerable expense) to run at this event, so they will be allowed.

The rule for tires is pretty straightforward, but I need to emphasize that 1/8th scale tires are NOT allowed. The tires that are allowed are the 2.2 x 3.0 SCT-specific tires. Every SCT manufacturer offers their own tires, as well as companies like Pro-Line and JConcepts. The tires must be completely stock (no cutting or modification) and tires that have been created from gluing 2 or more tires together to create a new tire will not be allowed.

Any time there is a completely new class, there will be many questions and items that have to be worked out. Please ask any questions you have about the rules or what might be questionable, so it can be addressed now, rather than waiting and not knowing.

Thanks.
