To those in charge of the GCS: When will we know if VRP is going to be ready for Feb. 20. I haven't ever been but plan on being there if the rain holds off. Had to take the day off of work, so just wanted to be sure that it will still be on instead of wasting a discreationary day that i could use for some of the other races. May God bless us with great weather and good memories. thanks - Ryan

That seems like a bit of a "doubting" post... both for Vince/VRP and for those that run GCS. No matter what, I'm sure both parties will make it work, be it at the track or via a reshuffle of the schedule as a last resort. Both Vince and the GCS peeps will do everything they can.. last thing we need is a bunch of doubters

Sorry for the Late reply..been a busy day and a crapy Super Bowl. :-)

I have been speaking with Vince dailey for the past week. Rain has hurt him like nobody else. VRP is a full service hobby shop and Race facility. He depends on his racing to make a living. He is more modivated than anyone in trying to get his track ready. We have no reason to think that the Feb 20th will not happen. As we all know the weather is very unpredictable. The track is real close to being complete and its going to be really nice! Feb 20th is on for Round 1 !!

Thanks

Jp

Its hard not to wonder when you see pics like this with only 13 days to go.

:D:D:DI wasn't in any means doubting VRP Hobbies, just simply curious by the looks of the photos posted. Wasn't trying to offend anyone either. If you say that there will be a race I will be there. I am so tired of being cooped up inside by all this weather. By the way Marc, I was simply asking a question that most people would want to know......not doubting anyone's abilities, or work ethic. - Ryan Bevil

For those of you that havent been to VRP, the picture was more of a joke from Vince than anything esle, that is what remains of a make-shift 1/5 scale off road track down inside of a retaining pond, along with alot of new dirt from the other tracks.
The 1/8 scale off road track is NOT pictured and is 80-90% complete, but it will need some good weather to get ready to race on.
VRP and the GCS will most deffinetly do everything in thier power to kick this 2010 series off in a big way for everyone to have the best series to date!!!

nah the 1/5th is farther to the left, though no doubt under a "puddle" or two itself. that's the retaining pond behind the stand of the 1/8th. its definitely misleading if you've never been there ;)

the right team won the super bowl:football:
are there any photos of what the vrp track may look like and how close to the completion of the track ....or is the mud hole the track for real?

Okay Yall...That one picture was a Joke..That is our retention pond that handles the 11 acers we have.. As you all know- We have Broke Records in the last three monthes with rain.......Our new offroad track is 85% done....Yes we definately need some sun...(3 days Worth) to finish...

Wednesday the 17th at Noon will be judgment day.. That day I as well as GCS will make a call as to wether we can run or not... Watch here or call ahead.

I cant tame mother Nature..

If things aren't looking good on the 17th what will happen? Move it to a different date or different track?

We all go to Alabama for the Bama Jama for that weekend. :nanabooboo:

Vince, this is the type of building you need:

That is definitely my alternative plan. I have spoke to about 3 other people that have said the same thing. Although, I am hoping VRP happens because Vince deserves a break and I know the new track is just going to be killer!

I'm on call the 20th... but I've already got a swap in the works so I can attend... GCS is a "bit" over my skill level *cough*.. but I wouldn't miss first race on the new track at VRP for anything

xeonrage - What are you talking about? Skill Level ? The GCS is for everyone. especially those who have never raced in a larger race event. It gives you the opportunity to see how some of the larger regional races are ran. Trust me...The GCS is for everyone. The super fast and the new guys. You'll have a chance to talk to some of the harder core racers and see how they do things...It will be a blast.....
