first race of the season [Archive]

Looking at March 20th. What do you guys say?

the only conflict i saw was madmaxx on the 20th i will probably have to hit yalls second race ...i wanna check out johns opener ....but the tracks are so far apart that its really not gonna matter as far as turnout i wouldnt think for either track .....but i will be there at the onion patch for sure ...one of the funnest club races i went to last year ..had no idea what i was missing down there in opelika :D

Man I am siriously considering taking a year off, due to all the tracks opening and scheduling conflicts, I just think turnouts will be low everywhere! I have not decided yet
will keep you guys posted.

Danny, I feel ya. I was making my race calendar to go over with the family the other day, and was like oh boy this is tough even for me. I can't even imagine trying to schedule a track now. And throw in all the big races now being held. My only advice would be, if you have a built in crowd, then most likely they will come. The issue is the faster guys want to race faster guys so they tend to want to go to the bigger races.

Danny, You need to keep your track up and going, it is one of the best tracks that we go to. I understand if you want to take some time off, and you should do what you feel is best for you, I know that if your heart isn't in it, racing will seem more like a job that the fun that it is suppose to be! Either way, me and Chase have a lot of fun when we come down there, and we will still have fun racing against you, even if we can't smell the onions!

The 27th is out for me all around. Family stuff going on that weekend. It is also the weekend of the GCS for most, not sure how many that go to GCS go to the patch but it might be some.

I know most if not all of the Dothan group including myself will be at the Battle at the Beach in FT. Walton Beach, FL. For the most part it has always been the 4th weekend in March, and this race usually brings in racers from all over the southeast.

I haven't decided if I'm going to r/c or mountain bike tomorrow. It will likely depend on how my night goes & how much sleep there is. Its quite a drive to get down there.

It would be a good 5 hour ride if I left the r/c stuff at home. No telling what a 20 pound pack would do to the ride. If I have a short night then I will likely wake up and race. If my night is long then I will likely sleep & mtb. I'm in 35242.

Start of day to end of day the track really changed... once all the cars started blowing the roughage to the sides and developing some nice lines. With a bit of rain and some more pack its gonna be that much better.

Danny mentioned the blind spot on the table turn needing to be fixed, which is easy.. I also hope we look at the turn marshal spots because they caused some blind spots too. Especially #6 in the right chicane.. I couldn't see that last turn before the finish all day :(

It's all minor though.. just some little tweaks.. great stuff danny

Hey.. congrats also to the new guys (Tankersley I think? looking at the results) that were running for their first time.. they were running electric truggy and monster truck as I recall.. nice guys.. very polite.. asked lots of good questions and ran very clean.. looking forward to seeing you guys around more.
