We are striving to improve the operation of the GCS and therefore have come to some conclusions on changes to make the GCS events more successful . In addition to the race format, we have decided to make some “written” guidelines and fail-safe’s in the procedure we use to direct the event. These overall changes will eliminate certain problems that arose at Dalton Round 2. Though there will always be a chance of uncontrollable situations, our new procedures will help prevent them.

Please check Series Information for a complete up to date 2011 Format.

New Format changes –

• Registration - Please use RC Sign http://events.rcsignup.com/events/displayEvent.cfm?ID=1790
Once trackside registration opens, all racers must be signed(paid) before practicing.(No Exceptions!). This is a crucial part to starting on time. This has been an issue in the past and we are going to strictly enforce this rule. Getting racers registered in computer is extremely important and can time consuming.

• Controlled Practice
A practice schedule will be enforced allowing for better quality practice for everyone. (see practice chart). Adjustments to practice schedule may be made according to racer turnout.

• Qualifying and Mains
If entry number exceeds 125, qualifying will be reduced to 2 rounds (no voting). This rule will be automatic and no voting will be allowed. Being a single day event is one of the reasons for the success of the GCS. AM finishes do not benefit anyone who is trying to race on a budget and get home alive.

• Breaks and Warm-ups
Breaks between rounds of qualifying will only take place if track maintenance is required. Electric vehicles will have 1 minute warm-up. Nitro will have 2 minute warm-ups.

• Round 4 Battle Field Raceway will have a complete tech station for ALL Electric Classes. Tech format will be announced at race.

so, just to be sure no one is found illegal since you will be teching all electric classes I have some questions:

is timing boost allowed in 17.5T 2wd SC?

are the ribbed front SC tires allowed?

are factory team sc10 and blitz ese race performance kits allowed and when you say stock parts must be used what aftermarket parts or modifications may be allowed?

It is also stated no added wings or spoilers to SC bodies, so the 4x4 SC guys I have seen with rather large rear spoilers added will be required to remove them?

Could we enforce the rule about people for the next race crowding pit lane? That was an issue at Dalton.

Sorry I didn't see your questions before this past weekend, but let me address them now, for future reference.

I have not found anything in the ROAR rules that limits timing boost, so this is allowed.

Neither ribbed front SC tires nor the new "wide" SC tires are allowed. Both go against the spirit of the class and have been outlawed by ROAR.

The wings you saw on those Open SCT trucks would be outside of the rules and are not being allowed any longer.

The rules that were on the site were not the most current rules that we are following and I apologize for the confusion. We are going by the most current ROAR rules, which do not limit you to the use of stock parts. The major restrictions we have been checking are tires, motors, and ensuring that the vehicle meets the length, width, and weight requirements. The biggest issue we saw this past weekend was a few vehicles were underweight, which was an easy fix for them. Everyone did a good job working with me to get the cars through tech easily and without hassle and I appreciate that.

For reference, these are the rules we are using for the electric classes:
