Would Evans be too far away from I 20 for most in the Augusta area to regularly visit an indoor track?
I am looking at locations that would have parking for 50-100 cars at a time.
6-9000 sq ft of space, with 1000 sq ft of space to use as a hobby shop, and then 1000 sq ft as pit area. The pit area would have a tire washing station, air compressor, and VIP pits with weekly rental.
The Track would be around 50X100 with an off road track inside the dirt oval. This would give more class for race day, and times when there is bad weather.
Layout would be set up for 1/10 electrics, but could handle 1/8 electric as well. Several large jumps, but would be fast enough to keep it exciting.
There would also be some rooms set up for parties, or club meetings.

It would be a good area, tons of people in the area with RC's over there. I can think of probably 30+ off the top of my head. The Aiken crowd wouldnt have too far to ride either. As long as you can fit 100+ vehicles, you will be fine. I say that because, by doing that you will be able to host 1 or 2 big races a year and basically pay the whole year off those two races. Run it good, and people will come. Augusta has more people than nearly any of these other tracks, it will work if done right.

Evans would be great. Plenty of people with $$$ to to spend. The rent might be a little scary though.

This is what I am thinking about for a basic initial track layout. Dirt oval with a off road track in the middle. The track would be approximately 50X100. The start/finish line would be in the front strait, and it would then turn into the off road. A single large jump would lead to a corner table top, and then into a washboard around the corner. A small low jump would turn the corner to a large triple. Then you would turn the corner through a set of off set moguls into a small table top. A medium size jump would lead to the next turn and a set of off set small jumps would make you slow down, and then a double that would put you back on the oval turning towards the start finish. None of the jumps would be too big so to keep up the speed, but just enough to keep the field tight enough for passing. I have attached a rough layout of this to the post.

I will, all of the information is starting to come together. Does anyone have an opinion about the live RC system?

I wanted to give an update. It looks as if we are getting closer to securing the financing, and have the location picked out. Once the details are Ironed out I will let everyone know the exact location, track size, layout, amenities, and of course when the opening will be. I will also be adding a web site, and online storefront to add to the convenience of buying products in the area. All hobby products sold online will be available at the track, and I will be looking to start up some consignment for those looking to enter the hobby.:atenhut
