Cullman RC will have some great racing for 2011. There will be an all new layout along with new cheeper entry fee's. (to be announced soon)

We will work with all the tracks in the area for best scheduling.

The track director will be Brian Kadow. ; )

I am trying to give back to the racers to make up for the high gas prices and poor economy.

Track will offer:

The track will be groomed and watered before every race event.
Plan to run 3 qualifiers and mains with bump up in ALL classes.
On site hobby shop.
Power (bring an extension chord)
Air compressor.
Food (hope to have onsite concession)
The free great outdoors.

More to announce later...........

Right now we are waiting on a bob cat/tractor to get the track leveled out. As soon as that gets done we can race. :raceme:

will there a raised pit area ...i always broke my back tryin to pit for people at cullman ...im just sayin :D....if you build a solid track with decent dirt and make a good layout i am in ...i always liked cullman because its only about an hour from the house

Brian Kadow
02-20-2011, 09:24 PM
I do plan on putting in a raised pit lane down the road. :D

I like the dirt that is there it was never preped before race day and it took till the mains to get good. I plan to sweep the track off before every race day so we are down to the packed surface with the most traction.

There is no tire wear at Cullman, you could almost run a full season on the same set of tires.

I am sure the rack layout will be to everyone liking. :)

Being a whole 10 minutes from me, makes it nice to be able to run through the week... :)

You have gotten to good to "run through the week", you and JZ can practice on the 4th Tu. of odd months from 8-9am if its raining. gn
Have passed my Corr trucks on to nephew Nick, to many big dogs in what was once the little dog yard. Going to try to get over your way for a race or two if I can stay off work that weekend. Going to race my D9 Cat. gn

Haha. :p The reason I ask, I don't have a very good place to run at the house. No jumps or hills or anything for my bash cars, so I head to the track.

Yes you will be able to run on the track through the week. I believe Dan will charge a fee for practice. Anyone who gets to practice through the week will have to start a lap down in the main. LOL .....KIDDING :lol-floor:

Sorry JZ, I didn't know. We'll give you the 4th Tu of every month. And the slow part of the Sig. is about as good as the Rookie stuff..gn
Come on Brian, get the tractor going, I might can make it the 5th or maybe even the 19th.
Not hitting many Shoals races because of work. Come on Dan, get out there and fire up the Kabota for the cause, diesel is still under $4. gn
Diesel in Barry's 250 will cost us $30 just to come over there, I'll even buy a bag of body clips. I'm full of it, I know..gn

02-28-2011, 08:11 AM
Track day went very good and I think everyone will be happy with the layout. Friday I will finish the track up and have a couple people run some laps on it to make sure the jumps are right. :)

Saturday the 5th track will open @ 8:00am and we will start racing at 1:00.

During the drivers meeting we can talk about schedules, start times or anything else.

Cullman only has a few HOUSE transponders for us to use so make sure you get a PERSONAL transponder if you dont have one.

mudslinger
02-28-2011, 10:34 AM
Brian, several of us are wanting to get down there to race, we had already planned on going to Nashville next weekend though. As long as you don't schedule on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday then you will have SHARC guys coming to the track. I've only raced there once, but I liked the track. I should have time to get one race in there before soccer season starts and this summer after soccer I'll be there for sure.

drove out to the track this morning and it looks really good. looks like there will be some of the terraces used at the trerrace row now. maybe the rain will hold off so that it can get finished this week. it was a muddy mess by the drivers stand this morning. looks like it will be a fun track to race on

Brian Kadow
03-01-2011, 05:45 PM

It looks like this weekend will be a test and tune day. I will be there Friday to finish the track up and run some laps. I still need to learn the computer system as well.

We will work out the SC stuff at the drivers meeting.

I guess I'll be out there around 4:00 Friday. Ready to see the track...

Brian Kadow
03-06-2011, 08:40 PM
I ran about 30 laps on Friday with my 1/10 stadium truck and the track felt great. RED Losi step pins are the way to go on this track. It will be cool to see some 1/8th on this layout. :D

slashracer111
03-06-2011, 10:26 PM
I also ran this past friday, with my E-Buggy. The table top is really... BIG!

I like the layout. My only concern is on a few jumps, mainly the jumps that are jumping towards the drivers stand. I think it was two jumps or so... anyway. The jump blocked site of the car while I was approaching it. I would come off the jump sideways, or not jump correctly every time.

Not trying to whine or anything, It just makes the track less fun for me, I don't like not knowing what I am fixing to jump. ;)

I'll be up there tommorow afternoon again to run. I'd like to get the E-Buggy and the T4 out.

Brian Kadow
03-07-2011, 10:19 AM
The 2 jumps going to the back and the 2 jumps comming down are not done. I will finish those up this weekend. :)

The "flow" of the track is what I want to be fun for everyone.

Ok everyone........the track is done. :D

We had a couple of people out there to run some laps to test the jumps and get a feel for the flow of the track. We drove 2wd SC, stadium truck and 1/8th buggies. All cars drove the track just fine. The layout is NOT easy and will take MANY laps of practice. I would suggest being there early this Saturday to get some laps in. The traction was very low but will get better when cars run on it. As most of you know the Cullman dirt is full of very small rocks but I will be sweeping the track through out the day to keep them out of the line. I will keep the track watered as much as I can to keep traction up.

Track will open at 8:00am sign up will CLOSE at 12:00 racing at 1:00. If you cant get there before 12:00 to sinn up CALL the hobby shop and get signed up.

Entry fee's
$15.00 first class
$8.00 second
$8.00 third

$30.00 family pack of 3 racers = father and 2 children

Novice racers = brand new to racing and must be 8 years and under
$8.00 entry fee for novice

We will have hot dogs, soda's and chips on sight for $4.00 for the combo

power and air will be available as well

There are no working house transponers at Cullman so get a personal transponder if you dont have one. Anyone with out a personal will be counted by hand.

LETS RACE!!!

This.

I could possibly run by tommorow. It just depends on how hard it's raining if I can take some pictures.

No pictures.

I was skeptical about the new layout at first. After running my T4 for about 45 minutes today, I love it! Plenty of big air jumps, tight technical sections, and 10th scale friendly. The minor changes that have been made have helped alot.

Looking forward to racing Saturday. Let's bring the stock SCT's back out.

i was there today and even had the camera but it never crossed my mind till i got back home and unloading the slash that i had the camera. my 4wd sc did really good.brian the back side of the table top washed away a good bit. the rest was pretty dang good. like he said the double after the table is huge hang time(not like warehouse hang time) but you can pin it with the sc and make it no problem. track is very fun. see ya'll saturday

Nuts is an understatement. The start was complete insanity. :)

I had a great time today. Broke my buggy alot. After going through 2 motor bearings, replacing BOTH center drive shafts (before the main), it was hectic.

Come to find out, my chassis is warn down excessively. I kept bending center shafts because it is flexing WAY too much. Should of replaced it sooner, since I already have an extra chassis. :o

LOL. I can get out to the track easy. It's just the whole getting away from the archery...

By the way, would anyone be interested in running mini revo's again? I just picked up a new ESC for mine, so I'm ready. :)

Stadium truck is fun! My problem is I want to treat it like a buggy, not a light stadium truck.

I'm going to make the race this weekend. Got out of the archery tournament. :) I don't know what I am running. T4 for sure.

After the motor bearing incident at the last race in my buggy, causing the lamination to come off my rotor, I probably will not race that. Unless I can find another. :(

Glad everyone came out. With all the rain we had the track was still in great shape. I see new faces all the time at the track and thats what its all about. I hope everyone is having a good time and enjoys the layout. :D

Is there anyone in the midsouth that can/will challenge Jose in 1/8th scale? :moonya:

I would like to see more nitro's show up, I get 2 - 3 1/8th nitro's and 5 - 10 1/8th electrics. The track has been real good this year and the layout is good for all classes.

I had a 10th scale Losi 22 there this weekend and was concerned about it on this layout. It turned out to be the fastest of the 10th scales. :raceme:

Yes, but no.

You can ask a fellow racer to hand count your laps, but that takes time and a little trouble. It's fine to do this whenever you start racing.

The best thing to do is buy the MyLaps RC4 transponder, and you'll be set to run anywhere and not have to worry about it. If you have the cash, buy one. ;)

Wide spread power outage, and no end to the destruction is site. Being from Cullman, it's pretty amazing at everything. We all are okay, and most racing friends that I talked to are.

Be safe guys.
