I have a few things pending but it's looking like I will be coming to the event, bringing my brother a new racer to run SC class.
What tires are working in the JC stuff and will it be ran wet or dry so I can be prepared?
Talk to you guys soon!

Hey Alan, hope you guys can make it.
Most guys around here are running Calibers in the Open SC class. However these can only be run in the Open Class.
For the stock class, it is any RTR tire, but those running stock are sticking with the stock Losi tire. They seem to work better of other RTR tires.
We will keep the track as wet as possible throughout the day. As always if it starts getting slick/dusty we will stop and water the track. Being indoors, as you well know, it tends to hold moisture pretty good.
Hope this helps! See y'all soon.

17.5 is a stock class. However we are not limiting it to one brand of stock. You will have Losi, Team Associated, Kyosho, HPI. etc. Most say that the stock Losi tires work best on our track so we opened it to any RTR tire that way the Losi guys wouldn't have an "advantage" because their stock tires worked better. Hopefully that makes sense. It does in my head anyways. Any other questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to explain.

I am thinking about coming over with the family.
Where is the nearest hobby shop?
Is there plenty of (close) parking for trailers
Where are the rules for the Stock 17.5 SCT class?
Thanks, Jeff

Hey Jeff, hope you and your family can make it. We look forward to having y'all if you can.
We have 2 local hobby shops close to the track:
1) Nitro Toys & Hobbies - about 1 mile from the track
2) HobbyTown USA - about 2 miles from the track
We should have no problem accomodating you with a trailer. We have parking on the side specifically for trailers. If we need to move some cars for you then by all means we will do it. :)
The rules for the 17.5 class are based off of ROAR rules, but the run down on it is... Box Stock just like it comes. You can run Lipo (2 cell 7.4v) and it is open to any RTR tire. You can see more detail about the RTR tires listed above in my response to Spencer.
Any other questions, feel free to ask away!
Again, we hope to see you all this weekend.

Awesome! After I saw the response about tires, I am going to have to run open. No big deal though, I just want to run.
I might have to see if I can find a larger motor than a 17.5 though.
Thanks, Jeff

Most guys that are running open are running a 13.5 motor. Very few are running 10.5 and I've only seen one less than a 10.5 and it didn't work out well on our track. Way too much power. Like I said most are sticking with a 13.5. So don't feel like you need to strap on a 4.5 just to come run open with us, that's not the case at all.
Yall have a safe trip and we'll see you this weekend!

Yeah, I am going to see if I can find a 13.5 or a 10.5 Tekin before the weekend. I have been running a 17.5 but with all the options with boost and turbo, I am sure it will be plenty.
Do you happen to know if the hobby shops there carry Tekin motors?
Thanks, Jeff

Jeff, I called and checked with both hobby shops to see what all they have in stock. Below is the run down of what they have available:
Hobbytown USA has the Tekin 13.5 Combo (Motor and speed control) for $249
- They dont just have motors this will be the combo only.
Nitro Toys & Hobbies doesn't carry Tekin motors, only the speed controls. However they do have Duo's, Orion's, Novak's, & LRP's available in 13.5 & 10.5. Depending on what you want of course determines the price.
If I can help with anything further just let me know and I will find out what I can.

Awesome! I will try to call Nitro Toys and get one of the Duo motors if I can. Hopefully they have the 3 but if not I will get one of the older ones.
Thank you sir for doing that! It's hard to hear anything where I work at. :o
