Info on the points series:

We will be having a points series starting on March 13, 2010. It will run for six races ending on May 23, 2010. If you want to run for points you will have to pay $10 at your first race. This money will go into a "pot" and will be paid out to the racer who accumulates the most points over the course of the six races.

You can only accumulate points in one class so you will have to designate which class you want to run for points. This gives the racers who only run one class equal footing against those who run four or five classes.

Points will be awarded as follows: 2 points for TQ. 100 points for 1st place, 99 points for 2nd place, 98 points for 3rd place and so on in one point increments. So if you finish in 8th you will be awared 93 points. If you do not start the race and there are eight racers in that race then you will recieve 93 points for finishing in 8th place. We feel like this will make for a fun and tighter points battle.

Your worst finish will be thrown out so if you can't make one race then you will not be penalized.

Since there is money involved and sometimes that causes people to act a little crazy bad conduct, foul language, lost tempers, etc will result in the loss of 10 points.

We believe that this will be a fun series and look forward to having as many people as possible participate. If you have any questions or suggestions just let me know. You can keep an eye on the forum for updates, or changes. I will also post back here if there are any changes. We also have a Facebook page for any racers out there on facebook. Just search for S.H.A.R.C. Also I will be putting the points races up on rcsignup.com so that you will be able to sign up early.

I just wanted to clear a few things up. You can race on these dates even if you are not going to race for points. You won't accumulate points unless you pay the $10 on your first race. So feel free to come race with us even if you don't want to participate in the points, although we would love to have you participate in our points series. We are using this as a gauge to see how much interest there will be in it, and hopefully do it bigger and better later this year.

In the case of a tie your throw out race will be the tie breaker. If there is still a tie I guess you can fight for it, but of course if you do fight then the bad behavior rule will kick in and you will loose 10 pts. :lol-floor:

One more thing to clear up. If the turnout is good, and there are enough registrations then we will split the pots per class. So if you are not going to participate because it's just one pot then come on out and maybe we will have enough to split the pot.
