We have decided to go large with the plaques for this event. We will offer tq and 1-5 plaques for each class.

The winner of each class will get a very large 19x25 pitboard. Positions 2-5 will get 15x19! Although these only show title/class sponsors each one will show our full list of sponsors across the bottom. We are very thankful to have the sponsors!

Take a look!

Hotel and Entry Info...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are gonna gear down to spend time with the family and enjoy everything.

Just to touch base, for those who wish to pay now. We have about 10 spots left under our pre pay special. This will get you two free cans of Kalgard for your early entry, courtesy of Kalgard Racing.

If your serious about attending this event keep watch on everything and get your entry in when you can. I feel like things will pick up in January/Feb. We can only take 350 paid entries and we are at 123 as of today! We have over 450 people registered so this could fill up quickly.

We have updated our sponsor list and you can view that here or at www.2010ams.com. At this point we have a "HUGE" sponsorship package for the racers!

The host hotel has 88 rooms left at our $45 rate. This hotel is nice and clean. It is also 2 miles from the event. It offers a free "real" breakfast each morning as well.

If anyone has any questions about classes, rules, event, pitting, rules, etc, please let me know!

Our goal is to bring you a real "racers race", give you all the information you need well in advance, make it affordable, have healthy racing for everyone, and give you one of the largest sponsorship packages seen!

We have a good 4-5 months to go and we are not through yet!

Have a great Holidays guys!

I just want make some things 100% clear. It seems some people take it
at liberty to assume that we are not honest in our posting with
current sponsors and entries. How one could know that is news to me.

Let me make this clear. If you see a sponsor on that flyer that means
that for months we have spoken to them and 100% worked things out. We
know 100% what level they have chosen and what they will give. At the
very least we know what level they want, yet the company has asked for
more time in coming up with the product that will fill the
certain "price range". I'm very involved within this industry and I'm
not going to post publicly that Mugen, Losi, TKO, or anyone else is
supporting this event if they are not. Myself and Matt Sistrunk have
worked many hours and months working with these sponsors so that for
once a race will truly support the racers who support it.

We have worked hard to bring the racers a great race, and it's going
down just as advertised;)

So racers...sit back and get ready. It's going to happen just like
advertised!

Hey racers...

Some have asked about the tire choices and surface. Below is a video
of the Southern Indoor Championship held last October. This is a
different event held yearly. Surface will be close to the same as this.

You can also notice the great ventilation. This is with 12-15 cars and
near the end of a 30 minute main.

Many ran Proline M3 calibers, bow ties, losi green xbt/eclipse combos,
holeshots, etc.

Temps will be warmer in June so harder compounds may be needed.

Alan, how many did you say you needed to make a class?

We are looking good in all the classes by far. We have over 210 paid entries at this point.

25 paid in electric buggy, 10 in electric truggy, and 8 in MT. I think I said 10-15 in those classes. So everything should be good;)

I notice some of the locals who plan to run the e- classes have not paid yet and thats fine. But keep in mind that you have over 400 nitro racers who are going to try to pay sometime soon and we only have about 140 open spots left. So if you guys are planning to make this event secure your spot by paying.

If it comes down to it and you can't make it, we will issue you a refund and hope to see you next year:nanabooboo:

I was just giving you a hard time:)

Gonna try to do my part in making sure racers have supplies. I think we will need a few shops to supply several hundred people.

The ones I have spoken to are:

Cullman RC Hobbies

Carolinas RC

Dalton RC Hobbies

Whitehouse Hobbies

I have confirmed Carolinasrc bringing a big trailer with a lot of parts.

AB, how are ya'll going to do the pit areas. Are some inside, is it first come first serve? Will you be able to hold your place the rest of the race? Will there be water and air?

And on the driver's stand, do you have a measurement from the floor to the top of the hand rail? Gotta bring a step stool for Connor.

pitting outside around the perimeter of the building with power taps paid for by the event directors ...there is some water but not sure if there will be an air compressor ..but 9 times out of 10 there will be some one within a few feet that will have an aircompressor ....:D:D

yup just take your expensive stuff and drop your ezup ..we gonna get a uhaul like burton got for us in savannah ..the single best idea i have ever seen ..
rent uhaul very close to track
park uhaul
load stuff in uhaul
pit out of uhaul
lock with padlock each night
unload uhaul at end of race
priceless
beauty is you dont get charged but for the rental fee as long as you rent it 5-10 miles from track

golden :)

what is open truggy?

it is a class for the racers a little above what a sportsman is but still not yet as fast as the pro/factory drivers.

ABURTON
02-09-2010, 09:08 AM
To answer that BA..

All trailers and campers will park in the lot on the right side of the building. We have a 250'x30' awning that has lights, concrete floor, and power that is free for racers with tables/chairs.

The area close to the door will be reserved for the Manf. booths as the traffic will walk in between the manf. to go into the building.

The event has speakers in this area so you can hear whats going on without dealing with the noise all day inside.

ABURTON
02-09-2010, 09:08 AM
ok guys, with 4 months to go the race is looking great! We have a lot of factory guys paid and who have flight confirmations, we have a lot of manf. support, a big package of sponsors to give to the racers, great layouts, and even more important racers!

This event is looking to be one of the largest in the country for the year! With 4 months to go we have over 600 racers registered, and 230 paid!

That's right only 120 spots left so if you want to get in this event don't wait until the last minute. We are only taking 350 paid entries.

We have something for everyone...electric 1/8 truggy or buggy(and a lot of them), Short Course, Nitro 1/8, open, pro, and sportsman classes, EVENT SUPPLIED MARSHALS, large drivers stand, buy two get one free entry, free event tshirts, covered pitting with lights and power, parking for campers/trailers, and more!

Seriously guys, if your coming start getting paid up. We are not going to take entries at the event. If you can't make it in the end just let us know and we will issue a refund for you and fill the spot.

Thanks!

Are the trailors gonna be kept out from under the overhang? Lot of good pit area used by only a few at the SIC race. I like the U-haul truck deal, but I'm planning on bringing my camper cause it's got a large awning, a frig, a stove, and a TOILET!!! Yes I'm near 50 now so I think of things like that. Hey guys, the event I am sure will have some cancellations. So if your wanting to come to the event get paid and I will put you on the waiting list in order paid. As someone backs out we will move you in.

We will post the waiting list in the net day or two.

You will have to paypal us direct at alanburton20@gmail.com and include your name and class in the comments.

Also, if you are paid and decide to back out you CANNOT sale your entry to another racer! We have a waiting list forming with guys waiting to get into the race. So when someone backs out(email us about a refund) we move the next paid guy in off the waiting list.

So you can't just sale your spot as it causes confusion in the system, and is not fair to the racers who are waiting to come in. So if you have done this it's not going to work. If you need to cancel email us and provide us with your mailing address and we will send you a refund.

The only way for anyone to get into the event at this point is to get on the waiting list by doing as mentioned above.

Thanks guys!

do they have fresh water connection there for a small camper?

I stopped in by the Agri Cernter Tuesday to check it out for a camper,,,, didn't see any camper connections. Gonna save milk jugs every week and carry them for my toilet and sink water. I have the built in fresh water storage tank but haven't every used it. My home is only 20 minutes from the track some I'll be going home every night to shower.

Electrical outlets at the building are about 50 ft apart on the covered pit side (Northside) of the building. Pit tables will have them tied up. Need power strips at them as they are only a 2 out outlet. Sign by each outlet says $10 aday some there may be a charge. South side of the building had 3 different duplex power locations along the wall but thats the back side of the track.

Burton has already covered the cost for the power. He also has som plans to spread the power around some.

If you are in a trailer, motorhome, camper, toy hauler, etc you will be responsible for your own power, water, etc.

The event has supplied and payed for the power for racers flying in and/or who will pit under the awning down the right side of the building(as you drive in). This "pit area" will be just behind the drivers stand and will have the manf. booths setup near the door ways. So for this area lights and power are supplied.

All racers will need to pit either under the awning, or in the right side parking lot. The left side and back area will be blocked off. Racers will not be allowed to pit inside. This will keep it less crowded and allow the people in wheel chairs better access to where they need to go. The parking lot is level and will hold more trailers/campers than we will have.

The awning will have spots reserved for the manf. booths, and after that will be first come, first serve. We hope to have tables/chairs set up. I'll keep you informed of this.

Bubba's Fine Foods, Carolinas Rc, and the other vendors will all be on the right side set up for easy findings!

See everyone soon!

The left side and back area will be blocked off? I don't think you can get 350 racers with cars, trucks and trailors, campers, and pop-ups on the right side alone, from what I saw this morning as I went by there. Could be wrong through. I entended on pitting under my camper awning but that means double the space needed. Will that be allowed? and how far away from the building will the campers have to park?

First come first serve but you could be as close as 20' from building. That lot will hold nearly 400 large rigs without issue. Parking will not be a issue. If we need to use the other side we can. Don't worry, just show up ready to race..we will have the rest handled for you.

ABURTON
03-13-2010, 07:09 PM
also keep this in mind..with 350 "entries, your going to have about 150-175 racers at this event give or take. Most are running two-three classes, some even 4.

If half of the 175 have rigs, trailers, etc that's only around 88 trailers or campers. That will easily fit in the lot.

We have done the measurments already. I just can't wait for the event to get here:)

Hey Alan, I know you're busy with this and the shop, but I need something. If the qualifier sheets and schedule has the names as they are listed on RCsignup, then we are okay. If you are having to type them all in, can I get my name corrected? It should be Stephen McCalvin, not Steven Mkcalvin. Might seem small to some, but thanks anyway.

Alright guys, it's almost here! We got 2 short months and we will be racing in one of the largest events in the world! I'll be posting our final sponsorship list later today, so that you can view the great companies who came on board to support our event to make it great for you....the racer.

As a racer myself I wanted a event that was about the racers. Lots of prizes, event supplied corner marshals, great food, the worlds best drivers, a schedule that allows racers to hang out and mingle, and a well ran event.

To top that I wanted to give the racers a great layout!

My team for promoting this event consisted of Matt Sistrunk, Ali Moosa, and Simmy Kelly. These guys built websites, drew up logos and made flyers, and worked out sponsors with me. When you see these guys at the event or online give them a pat on the back;)

Huge thanks to the racers for the support!

I'm not sure the exact number but what we did was the following:

sportsman buggy- 10
electric buggy- 7
short course- 10
sportsman truggy- 1
monster truck- 3

Here is the current waiting list shown below. We will wait for racers to back out and notify you as soon as possible. We will take you from the waiting list in order you are in "YOUR CLASS", not the list.

Racers, we will not offer refunds past monday April 26th. We need to move on to other areas of the event, and get the list finalized and turned in to Jimmie so that he can create a schedule for us to post. So if your not going to be able to make it, you should have a good idea by now as we are just over one month out.

Hey guys ... I just wondered if there was any thought to having a security guard working the parking lot during the event? ... not sure what the cost would be but it just always seems to be a problem where ever you race these days (even Drake is a recent victim) ... pretty sad ... at very least maybe something could be said at the first (and all) driver meetings with a "watch out for you neighbor" type message ... problem is this crap happens when all are watching races thus a cop or guard seems like the best solution ... just wondered

Can't wait to load up and go!

It was, but that was the reason for the waiting list. If I remember correctly there will be 15 per heat. Well if (just using random numbers here) 62 people signed up for open buggy, that would be 5 heats, with the last heat only being 2 people so they let in the next 13 to allow the last heat to be filled. It doesn't change the number of heats run, it just fills them up.

I hated calculus.

Everything is good Jason, you just show up and get the same good race you was going to get. Numbers are for us to worry about;)

If you think you can't race with 450 let me know, I got some guys who want that spot! jk..

I think it was "hardcore" because he wanted to let people know this race would fill up, and it did, 2 months ago! :) he mentioned filling heats back on Jan 19, I had just forgotten myself he mentioned it (http://www.rcsoutheast.com/showpost.php?p=1236&postcount=41).

What day can we start parking a camper in the parking lot? Mine is a 30 footer. I know ya'll are gonna spot us but can we get up closer to the building near the cover awning or does the shorter campers/trailors get the spots,,,or is it first come first serve?:nicedoggy:

Also I'm supposibly gonna have a bigger generator and may sell some day time power hook-ups in the parking lot to put money on gas for it. Gonna pick it up Friday and tune it up, being as how it's a " get it and run it all you need to " deal.
