2010 Colonel's Winter Classic sponsored by JConcepts
January 16

This years race will be a nitro only event. As the electric 1/8 class evolves, we will plan on adding it to the event next year.

* Buggy
* Sportsman Buggy
* Truggy
* Sportsman Truggy
* 2WD Stock Short Course (8 entry minimum)

SC will run under the same rules as 2010 Psycho Nitro Blast (download available from http://philhurdraceway.com or http://psychonitroblast.com)

as of right now i will be coming with blake boggs ..we are planning to leave thursday afternoon ...sleep ...friday practice ...and lets get it on on saturday ..hope it works out as i cant wait to race in january ...

on the sct class will losi strikes be allowed to run in stock trim ..i see no reason why not they are about the closest sct to a slash that is out right now ...the sc10 is a totally different beast as well as the hpi blitz :p

If anyone needs any sleeves pinched, let me know, i also have a bearing puller so I can change them as well, I have done well over a few hundred sleeve resizing jobs, I done 30 at the SIC in Alabama in one day. Noone has ever came back to me with a complaint, I will also be carrying M2C Racing products for Mitch Looper at this event and after if anyone needs clutch shoes, bushings, etc.

Hopefully the SCORE crew will get a break from the weather and the ground will not be too frozen to get the track prep done.

+1 on waiting until a few days out to look at the weather, it can change many times between now and this coming weekend.

the SCORE club crew is always good about making sure the track is able to be raced, no matter what weather comes upon it, case in point, RC Pro Series, got pounded by rain, but we still ran the event. The track drains pretty well, so come on out, should be a good race to start the year off

Alex, someone should look into buying the old silver wings and golden needles facility. Last time I road past, it was still a vacant building. Not in the best part of town, but worked very nicely for alot of us back in the day. (Way back in the day that is)

Should we all assume that they are going to try and run until it rains it out or are they going to make a decision Friday late?

I have been brainstorming and researching land for the last two years. And have found quite a few equitable investment type properties, even ones with suitable indoor-racing type buildings. The main issue for anyone is time and money. If I could conjure up a "group" of people to form a new investment company and plan on this as a group effort it could be possible. Basically pooling our resources. I think we could do it. So what is Silver Wings? A roller rink?

They are running until it gets rained out. I dont see how this massive storm system has a 10% chance of rain Fri, 70% Sat, but will be gone and down to 30% Sun. I am leaving to go down tomorrow afternoon so I am racing whenever they decide to race. See yall there.

How many people still think they are going to head down? I am up in the air on it. I remember a couple years ago at the RC Pro Series it rained like 3 in. and we were still able to race the next day.

I have been discussing it with various people. All are in except maybe Ryan Lopez...Alan Burton and crew left today and is going to be there. JP is still going, I was on the fence, but at this point think it is better than nothing. And we can play PS2/PS3 in the trailer or watch movies, etc...and just hang out.

I hate to even say this, but has anyone considered postponing till maybe next weekend? It seems that a lot of folks that are 4hrs plus away from the track are starting to back out. I'm still on the fence. we all hate this type of weather forcast but I'm just askin.

I downloaded weatherbug for my iphone today and it allows you to pick specific weather stations, I picked one about 4 miles from the track. It shows rain to start around 2PM and stop around midnight and Sunday will be partly cloudy/cloudy but no rain. Although, it does says the rain will be a hard down pour. I am still going, at least I can run all day Friday and maybe some part Sat. I think I heard they might run the rest on Sunday....not sure though.

I think we will be able to get it in. From the local weather there they are saying sometime after 3 pm with light rain and a possibility of heavy rain but all ending by 12 am and 10% chance on Sunday.

Yep, that is what I am seeing. I am still in as well as some Florida guys that are coming form 6+ hours away.

Today the track was bone dry and dusty. It can hold a lot of water. Friday is supposed to be 70 degrees and dry. It can hold water. We have tarps, several wet dry vacs, and will have sawdust stored in a warehouse. Did I mention the track can hold water? Racing will start on time (9am) and the event will be ran efficiently. The forecast varies depending on the source but even in the worst case scenario, we will get lots of racing in. Besides that, the track can hold lots of water.

The Die Hards and Idiots are stil here. I think I fall under the idiots. Just watched Tanner
get his RV out of the mud. Cost him over 150 hot dogs.(that's food vender dollars). This race was gearing up to be a great one. The rain ruin one of best the of 2010. On Friday the track was primo! Not sure what tomorrow will bring but it doesnt look good. I have had a great time hanging with my fellow racers...so it's not a total loss.

Thanks to all the guys who stayed to race on Sun. We couldn't have done it without having so many helping hands prepare the track this morning. For those hosting a large event with a non favorable forecast....get a load of sawdust. It saved the day.

There was a full class in sportsman buggy, they even had a B-main. Pro buggy had 9 or so. Pro truggy was slack but we had a good time still.

the people who stayed worked HARD to get that race in ...there was plenty of people there that it was a great race ..the people who didnt go or stay will surely be dissapointed they did:) one of the best tracks ive ran at ..and it will be a permenant fixture on my rc calender :cool:

I have missed the last two CWC due to January conflicts in the past. SO I was looking forward to this one. Despite leaving early, well Saturday night, I had a great time on Friday. Saturday not so much...didn't know racing was starting, rushed to make the slash race...combined with breaking a shock tower on the slash (stupid mistake jumping out of the track and snagging a wood beam) then having to deal with a 10 pound muddy buggy, I just was not feeling it. It was not CWC, it was me. The guys I was hanging with also left so I had no place to stay...anyhow, despite all that, I think it turned out great for the people that stayed and I am glad it all worked out for those who did. You guys worked hard for it and deserved a good race. Hopefully next year it will be better. Brian great pics!

Here is a video from the guy that does the CWC every year. Looks as though he ran out of footage for this years race and had to stick some 2009 footage in, but good non the less. Jamie and Shannon get some major face time.

Hello Jamie Powell, Shannon Amos and everyone,

This is the fourth video I've posted on youtube because I like this rc racing, and do it for no cost. It's good for me and it's good to record the event, so you can watch it later.

I'm a little sorry that I never heard from either of you to say you liked the video. I see from your comments that you liked it, but I had to find them myself. If I didn't find them, I'd probably be a sad filmmaker with no appreciation.

Anyway, this year many people disappeared on Sunday when I had the chance to work with the camera more. Saturday was a lost day because of weather. Sunday had less people, but since this video is going to the wider community, I didn't want it to show so few people around.

And with the filming this year's scenes, because of the mud, I couldn't risk getting it on my lens and electronic . Already, my camera was covered in mud, and I didn't want to take too much risk with it.

One thing I would like is if you comment/rate on Youtube. Thank you guys .

great job on the short films. super nice guy. i enjoy all of your films on youtube. i like the drum solos, the bridge run , and others. thanks for all the time, effort.

DJ Sandoors, I just checked this site from the past few days. I too want to say THANK YOU, you did a great job piecing everything together and so sorry we didn't stay Sunday.

I like other racers, we look forward to the CWC because you will be there and your videos to me are the best in our industry. Love the camera work, the slow motion, everything.

Look forward to seeing you next year if not before!
