My addiction started in 1985 (I was 16), my neighbor that was about 5 years older than me bought a new RC10 and let me drive it. Shortly after that I bought a Tamiya Grasshoper ($300+ for an RC10 was like $2000 to a kid back then) Anyhow, moved to Atlanta in 1987, started racing Sugar Bowl in 1990 and did so until about 1992. Kept checking in on the sport from time to time knowing I wanted to race again and finally came back in 2007.

a kid brought a RAD 3 eletric 2wd buggy to school. And it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

my first what I considered way back then to be a "real" RC was a Lobo Buggy from Sears, lol, I remember the display, they had the buggy up there in a case and you could work the throttle and steering on the radio and watch it just run, in mid air, lol...... Then in 1988 a guy built a big dirt banked tri-oval with infield off road course, the local hobby town told my dad and I about it (we had a boat we got stuff for all the time) and my dad bought me a Losi JRX2 and we went to the track and it was all over.....about 4 months of racing in, the track owner took me under his wing with a sponsor deal and I race off road, paved oval, dirt oval, and some 1/4 scale oval till 1997, recieving alot of top name sponsors and traveling the country to race. Then I got a chance to run a real car with the race shop I worked at. I did alot of different forms of oval racing, karting, and then road racing. Unofficially stopped road racing about 2 years ago, moved here to SC, found all these off road tracks and got back into it full tilt............and here I am, working my way back, still trying to get back into the groove I was in before I stopped in '97, sure wish i never had!!

Come on you lurkers, spill the beans.
I got involved when Jared52 brought a Raze to the house last Feb. He had stuck his toe into the sport with the least expensive buggy he could find, and now we are neck deep in rolling stock but made a lot of friends along the way.

My brother had a Tamyia Blackfoot back in the early 90's and I had a Taxxas 1/10 scale truck. Never messed with them much after I turned 16. Later on I saw and rc show on TV, think it was RC TV or something, and Traxxas was a sponsor. I started looking around on youtube and ended up buying a Revo back in 07. I played with it for a while in the yard and then I came across a racing forum. I went and watched a race in late 07 and started fixing up the revo to race. I ran my first race in Jan of 08 and was hooked. I later picked up a truggy and now a buggy and I am so deep in this mess I am running race series. So thats my story.

I believe that people seeing one will help our sport. I'm planning to attend community events as a vendor, set up my trailer, have a video running on my PC, and have the cars there to see, and drive.

Went to a family reunion about 3 years ago and after it was over my cusion said let me show you something and he pulled out a new revo 3.3 . I thought that thing was cool so I had to have one and a week later I did. Then got to looking around on the internet and saw where they where racing them. Went out to the track in Augusta and raced the oval with it and played on the off road track and been hooked ever since.:firehead:

Two words.... SHANE OGDEN....the rest is history... lol
Was hooked after watching an episode of Punky Brewster when I wa a kid. Couldn't think about anything else until a Hobby shop opened up near us when I was about 12 -13 years old. Raced for a couple of years...then hobby shop closed down. Years later in 2006 my mother was showing my son Logan RC cars on the internet...and was telling him how his daddy(me) use to race when he was a kid. Logan came to me and started asking questions. And that all it took. I met David Hart at Loganville RC ..he gave me a great deal on a Jammin. I raced it a few time then the LOSI came out.....crazy start huh !
